Sesat = Lost for those not familiar with the Malay language. =)
Staying in Johore, automatically qualifies you to visit Singapore whenever you are free. Like seriously. I’ve been to Singapore pretty (much) when I was younger. But I never do the tourist stuff, nothing like that. And guess what? I haven’t even visit the Merlion statue in Merlion Park. And for the first time, in year 2009, I decided to go there because Nirav and Dina is the tourist from Perth! =) I need to do my job as the tour planner, no? :)
Do you know there is 5 (certified) Merlion in the country? The original statue is situated in Merlion Park, the second one is a slightly smaller Merlion behind the original statue, there’s one Merlion in Sentosa Island (someone argue with me that the Merlion in Sentosa Island is the original one!), there’s another one at Tourism Court and another one in Mount Faber.
Obviously we went to the original statue in Merlion Park. Its pretty near to Marina Bay and this is the place to take picture, nothing else. :P Oh there’s no entrance fee, so snap all you want. :P
Situated opposite Fullerton Hotel

Singapore future gambling den aka casino (Marina Bay Sands)

As you walk, you’ll see the lion, no, the mermaid, no, I mean the Merlion

Nirav found a free source for hair wash!

I check out the Merlion’s huge “back-door”

And they actually built a viewing dock right in front of the Merlion, so that you can take pictures!

And I present to you the mini Merlion (the second Merlion statue)

Do you see what I see? I wonder what’s the batang in front of this merlion

There’s no MRT which stops right in front of MRT. We took the cab cos there’s four of us and its cheaper that way. ;) Tell the cab driver you want to go to Merlion Park. Once you reach the taxi stand, go into the entrance (you’ll know what I mean when you are there) and walk in until you see the outdoor area, turn left, walk straight and you’ll see the Merlion. Else if you were to take the MRT, either stop at City Hall or Raffles Place, and its approximately a 15 minutes walk from there. :)
