Le Meridien Bangkok is our last hotel stop during our last trip to Bangkok.  :)  Situated at a very strategic location, which is none other than Surawong area, and a stone throw away from the famous landmark for ping pong show.  :)

This is the building day

And transform by night.  :)

You know what I like about the hotel.  I love how the hotel gives you the modern feel and yes simple but stylish.   :)

Although there’s no grand lobby to boast, but I love how the lobby looks so cool  :)

Waiting Area

Clean & Sparkling *kilat kilat*

Then we manage to check-in to our room and it looks how a Meridien hotel should be.  Comforting.

Personalised Welcome Message on LCD TV and CISCO phone  :)

The window with the auto-blinds that I just couldn’t stop playing with :P

Meridien supports UNICEF

And the comfy bed.  SEriously you will just melt and sleep on the bed anytime!  :P  Its so comfy especially the pillow!

The bathtub + shower place… see the above pic.. can see how you can make the toilet an open concept?

Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel are all provided and it smell quite nice too (although i still prefer Uma Sapna’s shower gel smell :P )

Mineral Water: THey provide 4 bottles in a room  :)

Or you can choose to drown yourself in the selection of alcohol *chargeable*

Or anything from the minibar *chargeable*

Oh, remember to wear the oh-so-comfy-robes while enjoying your drinks  :P

You know how Hotel always throw in some complimentary welcome drink?  And chances are, most of the time they sucks cos they give you some cordial drinks or some syrup-filled drinks, right?  But suprisingly in Le Meridien, you get a better treatment than that.  First you get to redeem the complimentary drink from the nice bar called Bamboo Chic! So you take your voucher and head on to Bamboo Chic at your convenience from 730pm – midnight (not when you are rushing to put your luggage and you gotta rush to finish your drink)

And I’m impressed with the interior once more!

Take picture first *blurry blurdevil*

Nice right?

Even the Toilet also very nice le

Oh, I haven’t even talk about the complimentary drink!  Instead of syrup-cordial-punch-drinks, we get to choose from the menu on what we want to drink, for free la!  ehhehe we got ourselves a pint of guiness and a glass of white wine.  How cool is that?  :)

The Spa, Fitness and Pool is situated on the 6th Floor.  Nothing great to shout about but at least there’s a swimming pool, right?  :)

Spa (You gotta pay for it  :P)

The comfy sofa near the spa, next to the swimming pool  :)

ta-da, the swim area and the comfy day bed.  :P

Okie, hope you like the hotel as much as we did enjoy our stay there.  The only set back was they didn’t pay special attention to our remarks when we placed our booking, in which they did apologize through email after that.  Don’t get me wrong, the staff, from the receptionist to the door bell to housekeeping are very attentive and friendly.  Just some minor stuff.  But if you were to ask me, for the price you pay and the things you get, I guess you can consider Pullman, which is as comfortable as Meridien is.  End of the day it depends on what you want.  For example, if you are bringing your family to Bangkok, you might consider Pullman for Pullman is more like a resort, while Meridien is more like a hotel building due to limited space.  :)

Anyway, if you are staying in Le Meridien Bangkok, you should walk around the area.  Go opposite the hotel to tailor made your working clothes or suit in Excelsior (I thought they are quite good) or walk over to Patpong area to catch a ping pong show.  :)  THere’s a noodle cart (street food) right opposite Meridien, which I find its pretty nice (operate by a lady).  Else along the street at night, there’s plenty of street food  :)  IF you want proper restaurant food, try out one of the Soi in Patpong, they have decent Italian restaurant there.  :P

Till then, blurdevil  :P

Pullman Bangkok King Power is a relatively new hotel in Bangkok (i.e. Not more than 5 years) and frankly speaking, Pullman wasn’t my exact choice when I was looking through the hotel choices.  But that was in the beginning.  Then came the Accor Asia Pacific Super Sales, months before my travel date.  And I got a pretty good rate then.  And my say?  Pullman actually is right now, on top of my list  :)  (Note: I stayed at 3 different Hotels during my last trip  :P)

Pullman Bangkok is situated at Soi Rangnam area.  Its approximately 5 minutes walk from Victoria Monument BTS station.  If you think 5minutes is a long walk, fret not, they provide free tuk-tuk service to/from the hotel.  My advice, take a walk and you might find things that you actually like  ;)

I like the lobby interior.  High ceiling and the soft colour in the lobby makes me instantly-cosy!  Like really!

Nice flowers!  :)

Wooden Statue

We check in, way before the check in time, and the room is not ready, so we just hang out and walk around the hotel.  You know ,apart from the spacious cosy lobby, they have a very nice garden, which is an ideal place to rest and hangout (at least for us, while we were waiting for our room).

Cosy garden sofa!

Got Christmas tree some more!

Spot the Not!

Oh, and the Koi fish is very very big!

Snap snap snap!

Latte with Cookies!  :)

We proceed to check in to the room and was inform that they are having room-upgrade promotion.  We book a Superior Room (with no Breakfast) and if we agree to top-up THB800 nett per night, we will get instant upgrade to Deluxe Room with Free Breakfast for two and free wireless connection.  We agreed!

Personalised Welcome Message!

The comfy bed  ;)

The work station, mini sofa and tv

Wadrobe

Coffee/Tea (They provide 2 small bottle of Mineral Water daily)

With such nice room, you really don’t want to leave the room!

Here’s where you can go if you stay in Pullman Bangkok.  Go walk around in the morning/noon at Soi Rangnam.  Try one of the street hawker (most are good!).  Get some seafood indulgence at cheap prices at Kuang Seafood.  Then unwind at Wine Pub.  :)  During the weekend, walk down to Victory Monument roundabout and check out the night market and the food stall there.  :)  Else you can always take the BTS and head down to Siam Area for shopping!  Hope this helps  ;)

Pullman, I will be back!

*hugs, blurdevil*

For our quickie 3 Days 2 Nights Bangkok Escapade, we decided to put ourselves to a comfortable sleep at night in Citadines Apart’ Hotel.  There’s a few Citadines in Sukhumvit itself but we decided to go for the one in Sukhumvit Soi 11.

Service wise, there’s nothing much to brag about.  They aren’t really a hotel, so, you really can’t complain about the service.  And most of the time, they don’t really understand your English, although they are one of the better ones.  So I guess, not much of a complaint on that either.

Location wise, its pretty much how you want to look at it.  Its approximate 350m away from Nana BTS station and approximate 5-10 minutes walk, depending how fast you walk, really.  As it is situated in the Sukhumvit area, food is anything but limited.  Along Sukhumvit Soi 11 itself, there is a newly open Manchester United Bar, walk down the road, and you’ll find a Australian pub somewhere, 7-eleven is nearby too (to stock up on your Singha beer) and the infamous Bed Supperclub which is just right next to the Hotel.

Bed Supperclub

They have a 1-Bedroom and 2-bedroom for you to choose from and if you’re coming to Bangkok with your family, I guess the 2-bedroom will be the right choice for you.  :) Let’s check out my 1-Bedroom apart’ hotel.

The comfy Bed with fresh white linen

Iron, Ironing Board, Hanger, Safe Deposit Box right in the closet

Full Kitchen Facilities (with fridge, microwave, etc)

And i really mean the complete kitchen facilities with pots, utensils, cutlery, etc etc

Study Table and Flat LCD TV.  THe TV can be adjusted across the rail!

Hair Dryer and of course Phone  =)

The 2-seater Sofa

The Wash Area and Toilet.  I think they need to improve on their Hot Water.  It’s practically not working the whole time I’m there.  And as far as I know, I’m not the only one complaining!  :I

And check out the partition in the room (even though its small). Now you see it…

Now you don’t!  hahaha

This is where we have our breakfast every morning.  Selection was pretty bad, just like the somerset apartment we stay in Singapore.  Both are part of the Ascott Group.  Maybe its not their policy to give you a sumptuous breakfast, but a very very basic ones. So nothing to blog about the breakfast

You can choose to sun-tan at the roof top coupled with some air pollution.  Or the gym..

Or just jump into the lap pool.  Make sure you don’t clash with anyone (haha)

Or even better, grab a Hoegaarden at the bar downstairs

And check this out, I find the “symbol” of representing “powerful” from the air-cond remote in the room *farny*
