Cafe Barbera, Sunway Pyramid

I have always love my coffee and earlier this week, I manage to check out Cafe Barbera at Sunway Pyramid.  You might have seen their other outlet(which happens to be the first outlet), at Bangsar (near to Wisma UOA / Maybank) and if you are a frequent traveller (via KLIA) their 2nd outlet is situated right in the airport

Barbera Coffee originated in Messinna Italy in 1870.  The founder, Domenico Barbera is nicknamed as the Magician for his extraordinary talent in creating great coffee taste and aroma.  Upon his death, his son Antonio carried over the family’s legacy and continued to spread the business all over Sicily and Calabria.

Barbera Coffee is more than just coffee.  On its own, it creates the harmony of taste and aroma.  Its distinct quality is due to meticulous source selection of beans, their roasting and blending art, all carried out within the frame of an advanced research technology; the innovation and the careful processing are the basic to the company.  Let’s check out the coffee selection, shall we

Cafe Barbera serve pretty wide choices of coffee, and apart from the above, they have Venezia (Italian espresso, vanilla syrup, chocolate sauce, chilled milk foam), Espresso Fredo (Sweetened Italian espresso on the rocks), Cafe Latte, Espresso Macchiato and many more!  If you are not a fan of caffeine, fret not, as they do serve Tea (English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Chamomile, Jasmine, Green Tea) and Fresh Juice.

The TREE Chill Out Cafe, Horizon Plaza Hong Kong

On our recent trip to Hong Kong, we happen to be in the Ap Lei Chau area.  As usual, I will be looking for coffee fix for the day and that led us to The TREE’s Chill Out Cafe.

 

TREE cafe is actually situated right inside the flagship store of TREE boutique.  TREE boutique is Hong Kong’s first eco-chic furniture boutique.  TREE is known for creating sustainable yet comfortable home furnishing.  They reclaim, recycle wood and turn it into beautiful furniture.  :)

The ambience of TREE cafe is pretty much the same concept as its produced furniture, and some of the chairs/sofa/table in TREE cafe are actually up for sale too!

Eating in Siem Reap: Cafe de La Paix

When I was drafting my itinerary for Siem Reap, I told Mei Sim and the rest that I need my coffee and if they don’t mind I would like to drop by Cafe de La Paix.  And I’m glad that we did and we actually drop by the cafe twice!

 

Cafe de La Paix is housed right inside the famous Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap.   We can’t afford to stay here cos its out of our budget, but hey, at least we got a taste of the coffee which I think its one of the best in Siem Reap, really.

Most of the seats were taken up in the cafe itself, we were given the seats at the other cafe with bigger chairs!

 

And I really mean… big… big chair.. sofa maybe?

 

And I really fell in love with this particular sofa/chair or whatever you want to name it…

 

Its so big and comfy, even Sara is doing the mermaid pose.. tee hee

 

Somebody get me the sofa la, then maybe i’ll love you and give you a kiss, maybe?

And this is the killer!  You really have to try this.  Its really like the nicest croissant I’ve ever taken.  This croissant is spread with plenty of almonds and guess what, there is custard filling too!  IF you think that is a bit too much for you, go for the plain croissant, its equally nice!!  Whoever going to Siem Reap, must ta-pau for me! 

 

And the other nice stuff here is the Dark Chocolate Ice Cream.  Trust me, you won’t regret trying this.  Its  orgasmic…

Devil(d)rinks Coffee

I wonder why my craving for coffee these days seems to rocket through the sky.  I’m a sucker when it comes to coffee.  But to satisfy my caffeine-fix, I reckon 3-in-1 Instant Coffee will do the trick, albeit not my first choice.  No Starbucks for me.  Economy not doing very good, purchasing power weaker, you get my point. 

 

Oh and btw, I never like Coffee Bean’s coffee.  Some of the coffee I tried there seems to irk me more than anything.  But nothing annoys me than their service (to those branches that I visited thus far).  For a reliable fix, I would choose Starbucks without a blink of eye than to ever have CB (sounds like Chee Bai) brand flash over my mind.  Now I sounds like a Starbucks ambassador, which I wisham not.

 

Speaking of Starbucks, I wonder why they never introduce this to Malaysia.  This will be the perfect 3-in-1 coffee for me (if they ever reach our shore).  Check out the packaging, similar to the markings done on your Starbucks Latte/coffee mug.  Cool, no?
