Chynna is always “the” restaurant to go to whenever anyone ask me for Halal Chinese Cuisine. In my opinion, its the restaurant to go to, that is able to serve up authentic Chinese cuisine without any pork in the menu. 🙂 Their Dim Sum remains one of my favourite. 🙂

Not forgetting the effort that they take, to create the oriental ambience. Its so Oriental you thought you were in like some oriental country, like say, China. 🙂 See for yourself 🙂

For those who do not fancy any Western cuisine this festive season, head on to Chynna. The festive set menus specially crafted by Chef Lam might be your choice 🙂

Steamed Sea Grouper Fillet with Wine and Ginger

Singaporean Chilli Crab Fried Rice

During our Chiang Mai trip, we decided to do a day trip to Chiang Rai.  Weeks before my arrival, I inform the driver (nice guy) that we intend to drop by White Temple, which is actually on the way to Chiang Rai.  So there we were 🙂

Wat Rong Khun is more well-known to the tourist (like me) as the White Temple.  Its not hard to guess why.  The color chosen (White) is to symbolize Lord Buddha’s purity and white glass to represent Lord Buddha’s wisdom shining all over the earth and universe.

Wat Rong Khun is designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat.  I’m amazed by how he pay every little detail attention to the temple. And the picture speaks for itself.  Construction started in 1997 and is still ongoing.  No pictures allowed inside the temple.

Pretty hot day, hence the nicer picture, i likey 🙂

Can you see how white is white?

Me in front of the temple.  The cloth to cover my leg was provided for free

Pictures – Surrounding the Temple

Looks nice right? Especially with the water feature that gives the reflection of the temple

Guess what? I thought the water is super shallow, but they rear fish.  I love this pics 🙂

This is the sight you will see while getting to the bridge in front of the temple.  The bridge symbolizes the transition of cycle from life to the land of Buddha.

On each side of the bridge, there are 8 monsters, totaling 16 monsters, which represents 16 types of passion.

I love how the artist really pay super detailed attention to the whole temple.  🙂

On the way to toilet tee hee

Western Style Toilet = Our usual toilet.  🙂

Last picture of the day….. even this is decorated 🙂 Cool, no? 🙂

So if you are on your way to Chiang Rai, drop by the temple.  You will be amaze with the details 🙂
